Shari, I originally purchased your book as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend, as she was navigating some challenges in her workplace. After seeing how much the message resonated with her, I bought a copy for myself as well. The conversations sparked by your book have become a regular part of our household, as both of us continue to reflect on our own workplace experiences.

Of course it’s uncomfortable. But the way I see it, if you are a White person, and you wouldn’t trade places with a Black person, most especially a Black woman, then perhaps you understand that “discomfort” is quite the understatement when it comes to their lived experience. These are tough subjects. We can’t keep ignoring them. It requires a deep dive into ourselves and how we live, work and play in an increasingly diverse world. This is of course just my take on the topics, but this is a terrific book.
