Who is this workshop designed for?
Individuals seeking a deeper understanding of race, racial dynamics, and racial literacy.
Individuals who want to move beyond silence, fear, or uncertainty toward greater clarity and competence. Those new to racial literacy, as well as those seeking to deepen existing understanding.
Community groups, educators, professionals, and leaders are navigating conversations about race across workplaces, institutions, and communities.
Community groups, professionals, and many others are often called upon to navigate conversations about race without having the foundational knowledge to do so with confidence or clarity. What makes this program unique is Shari Dunn’s expertise in intellectual bridge-building — helping participants connect theory to practice and apply these ideas in real-world settings. Whether you are part of a book club, managing a small business, working within an organization, or simply seeking to deepen your understanding, this program is designed to support you. Participants learn not only the concepts, but how to use them — building the knowledge, language, and confidence needed to engage meaningfully in their professional and community lives.
While the workshop focuses on developing racial literacy, often a missing piece for many white individuals, it is open to and relevant for all participants.
Many programs raise awareness. This experience builds capacity. Participants leave not only more informed, but more capable — able to recognize patterns, understand historical context, and engage conversations about race with clarity rather than fear or silence. Guided by Shari Dunn, educator and author of Qualified, the program combines structure, insight, and guided reflection to support real learning and lasting impact.
What you'll receive
Access to high-quality e-learning throughout the program, with continued access for up to 60 days after the final session.
A special feature of this training is access to a self-paced learning module. The module, Why We Talk About Race, provides the historical grounding and conceptual clarity many people were never taught, explaining why race remains central to social and institutional outcomes. It builds a shared foundation so participants can enter live sessions prepared, informed, and ready for meaningful engagement.
The program includes two one-hour live (Zoom) workshops, with access to session recordings for up to 60 days after the final session.
Workshops feature guided instruction and historical framing, real-world examples and practical application, reflection and discussion, participant questions and engagement, and tools for applying racial literacy in everyday life, workplaces, and communities. Participants are not expected to be experts; the experience is designed to support learning, clarity, and growth.
A structured, downloadable workbook designed to support learning and reflection.
The workbook is designed to move learning from theory to application, with guided reflection, key concepts, and practical language tools. It supports deeper processing and helps participants translate insight into real-world conversations and decisions.

About the Event
Join a racial literacy program designed to build understanding, confidence, and competence in navigating issues of race. Because racial literacy has long been absent from much of the American educational system—especially for many white individuals—this program helps fill that gap while remaining open and meaningful for all participants. Through self-paced e-learning, interactive live sessions, and a guided workbook, participants deepen their understanding and learn how to apply these ideas in real-world settings.

Discover how our program is making a difference and helping individuals like you navigate conversations about race with confidence.
Shari, I originally purchased your book as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend, as she was navigating some challenges in her workplace. After seeing how much the message resonated with her, I bought a copy for myself as well. The conversations sparked by your book have become a regular part of our household, as both of us continue to reflect on our own workplace experiences.
