Racial Literacy Program for White People

Reserve your seat and join a guided learning experience designed to deepen understanding and build the capacity to engage in conversations about race. Participants receive access to the e-learning module Why We Talk About Race, along with two interactive, one-hour live (Zoom) workshops that develop the language, historical grounding, and practical competence needed for meaningful and effective engagement. The first live session will take place on March 15, 12:00 pm-1:00 pm (PST). The second session will be scheduled collaboratively with participants and will occur approximately 2–3 weeks later. Participants will receive scheduling details, calendar options, and the Zoom link upon registration. No prior experience is required. Enrollment is limited to 100 participants, and a minimum of 50 participants is required for the cohort to run. Early registration is encouraged. If the minimum is not reached by March 15, the start date will be postponed for up to 30 days to allow the cohort to form. If the cohort minimum is not met within that time, full refunds will be issued to the original form of payment. This program is designed for: 1. Individuals seeking a deeper understanding of race and racial dynamics. 2. Community members, book groups, and civic participants engaging issues of race. 3. Professionals and leaders navigating conversations about race in workplaces and organizations. 4. Educators and facilitators seeking stronger historical grounding and practical tools. 5. A special feature of this training is access to a self-paced learning module. The module, Why We Talk About Race, provides the historical grounding and conceptual clarity many people were never taught, explaining why race remains central to social and institutional outcomes. It builds a shared foundation so participants can enter live sessions prepared, informed, and ready for meaningful engagement.

Workshops feature guided instruction and historical framing, real-world examples and practical application, reflection and discussion, participant questions and engagement, and tools for applying racial literacy in everyday life, workplaces, and communities. Participants are not expected to be experts; the experience is designed to support learning, clarity, and growth.
